Please read this disclosure carefully before trading. It summarizes the main risks of buying, selling and holding USDT. It does not replace the Terms of Use, which contain all the rules governing your relationship with Coinsafe.
1. USDT is not guaranteed money
1.1. USDT is a virtual asset issued by a private foreign company, Tether. It was created to track the value of the US dollar, but it is not legal tender in any country and is not guaranteed by the Brazilian government, the Central Bank of Brazil (Banco Central do Brasil) or the Fundo Garantidor de Créditos (FGC, Brazil's deposit guarantee fund).
1.2. The 1 USDT to 1 dollar peg depends on the issuer's reserves and management. Under market stress, USDT may trade below or above 1 dollar, and it may lose value.
1.3. The issuer may freeze addresses or block tokens by order of an authority or at its own discretion.
2. Dollar and price fluctuations
2.1. Even though USDT tracks the dollar, its value in reais changes with the exchange rate. Anyone who buys USDT is exposed to the dollar rising and falling against the real.
2.2. At Coinsafe, the accepted price is held if payment is made within the stated deadline and for the stated amount. Once the trade is completed, any change in value is the Client's.
3. Irreversible transactions
3.1. Blockchain transfers cannot be canceled or reversed. A mistyped address or an incompatible network can mean the total loss of the assets, with no possibility of recovery.
3.2. Always check the address and network before confirming. If in doubt, send a small test amount first.
4. Safekeeping your wallet
4.1. Coinsafe does not hold your USDT. It is sent to a wallet you control, which means the security of the assets depends on you.
4.2. If you lose your recovery phrase, private key or access to the wallet, the assets may become permanently inaccessible. If someone else gains access to this information, they can take your assets.
5. Blockchain network risks
5.1. Networks may become congested, charge higher fees, halt temporarily, undergo forks or have software bugs. These events may delay or prevent trades.
5.2. Between payment and delivery, you depend on Coinsafe and on banks to complete the trade. Operational failures may delay settlement.
6. Regulatory risks
6.1. The rules on virtual assets in Brazil and abroad are still evolving. Changes in law or regulation may limit trades, create new requirements or affect the value and use of USDT.
6.2. Coinsafe does not yet have authorization from the Central Bank. If authorization is denied, Coinsafe may have to stop its operations.
7. Scams and fraud
7.1. Scammers pose as companies in the industry to ask for money or data. Coinsafe never asks for your password, authentication code or recovery phrase, never promises returns and never asks for payment to an account that is not in Coinsafe's name.
7.2. Use only the official addresses: coinsafe.com.br, app.coinsafe.com.br and api.coinsafe.com.br, and the emails suporte (arroba) coinsafe.com.br and ouvidoria (arroba) coinsafe.com.br.
8. Not investment advice
8.1. Coinsafe executes purchase and sale trades. Nothing on this website or on the platform is a recommendation, investment advice or a promise of results. Each Client decides on its trades according to its own objectives and risk tolerance.
9. Taxes
9.1. Transactions involving virtual assets may create obligations to declare and pay taxes. Consult your accountant or advisor to understand your situation.
